Acting. Yes, me.
Well, yeah. Sort of.
This October, the Townsend Center on campus is doing "Not so scary fairy tales." They've written a family-friendly script that takes kids through a haunted-house style maze, only instead of little stations of zombies and vampires, theyr'e doing fairy tales. Some of the ones they are doing are Chinese dragon tales, Three Billly Goats Gruff, and some others. So, I went to audition, and, it looks like I am going to get a part. All we did tonight was improv, which I'm bullocks at; the director said I was good, though. They played this game where people pretend to have some weird party tick. Some were: sneezing out jewelry, speaking in opposites, and being the Queen of England. I had Xray vision. They got me right off. I could see through the door, and when the host didn't answer right away I started shouting. And then when he asked how I was I said "I'd be a whole lot better if you weren't wearing tye-dyed underwear." ;)
Here are some parts available: Baba Yaga (some russian tale), Rapunzel, Pinocchio, Witch from Hansel and Gretl, Troll from Three BIlly Goats Gruff, Wicked Witch from Snow White, and about 10-12 others.
I wonder what I might get??? I'll have to wait until Wednesday night to find out.
Argh. It's a little scary though. I haven't been on stage in a play siunce high school. I think that's part of why I want to do it. I won't be on stage, I'll be more like a character at a Ren Faire. Still... it's rather a departure for me.
