Hansl and Gretl and the Not So Scary Fairy Tales...
My show went up tonight.
How exciting! I see now why actors do it. Rehersals suck. But I am seriously TIRED and seriously JAZZED up.
I made one kid cry, but that was an accident. Some of them are quite small. I jump out and cackle and it scares some of them. When I can see there are small ones I come out and don't cackle.
We had 264 people in groups of 10-12. So I guess I did my scene about two dozen times. Whoa.
One of the little darlings slammed my oven shut when my foot was still outside, and I didn't get to eat even ONE baby. They wouldn't get into the oven!
One group of kids - 3 from one family - cried the ENTIRE TIME they were in there. Um? How scary is Pinnochio, dude? These kids were HYSTERICAL. So why did the mother keep them in? I ask you.
One kid (about 4) tried to fight the red riding hood wolf. "Come on, Wolf!" he said. "I know Judo! I'll mess you up!"
One kid got into my oven, and another tried to push me on on top of her.
One little boy, about 5, tried to push his sister - about 3 and a half - to me when I was trying to find volunteers to go into the oven. She wasn't going. But the mom laughed. All the adults did.
Hee.
